Party Planner

Are you having a party soon? Here are a few great group activity ideas to incorporate You Design ItTM, You Learn ItTM or You paint ItTM projects into many fun party themes!

You can also use some of the products to create colorful themed decorations for your party!

Jungle Party-

Project #1 - Painted Plaster Figures and Jungle Scenes

Appropriate for kids ages 5-10

You will need:
You Paint ItTM Jungle Figurines- 1 for each child. (6 per set)
Acrylic Paints
Paint Brushes
Pencils
Large sheets of white paper or butcher paper

Give each child a figurine, and a large sheet of paper. On the paper, they can draw a scene to go with their figure. They can have fun painting their scenes and their figures!

After the paint is dry, they will have fun playing with them!

Project #2 - Decorate a growth chart for the birthday boy/girl

Appropriate for ages 3-8

You will need:
1 You Learn ItTM Jungle Growth Chart
Paper cut into 3 x 3 pieces ( one for each child)
Pens, crayons or markers

Let the party guests help decorate the growth chart. Hand out 3 x 3 pieces of paper to each child and let them write or draw a birthday message with the date. Store the messages in one of the pockets on the growth chart for a truly special memory!

Project #3 - Leafy Paint by Color

Appropriate for ages 3-8

You will need:
You Learn ItTM Paint by Color Zoo (1 package for every child) Or you can divide each set, one picture per child)
Construction Paper
Scissors
Glue or tape

Have each child paint a Paint by Color picture. They can share paint sets that come with the kits if you divide the sets and give one picture per child. After the paint has dried, the kids can use scissors to cut leave shapes out of the construction paper. Glue or tape the cut out leaves around the edge of the artwork attaching them on the back.

Project #4 -Monkey Lacing Card Name Badges

Appropriate for ages 3-5

You will need:
You Learn ItTM Monkey Lacing Cards- ( 3 per set- enough for 1 each child)
Masking or electrical tape
Markers or crayons

As a group activity:
Give each child a lacing card, lacing string and a marker. After they lace their card, tie the ends together so you create a necklace to hang around their neck. Have the children write their names on a piece of tape and attach it to the lacing card.

As a decoration:
Use them a place cards at the party table!

Garden Party

Project #1- Paint Plaster Bugs and make Garden scenes

Appropriate for Ages 5-10

You will need:
You Paint ItTM Garden Bug Figurines- 1 for each child. (6 per set)
Acrylic Paints
Paint Brushes
Pencils
Large sheets of white paper or butcher paper

Give each child a figurine, and a large sheet of paper. On the paper, they can draw a scene to go with their figure. They can have fun painting their scenes and their figures!

After the paint is dry, they will have fun playing with them!

Project #2 - Birthday Bouquet

Appropriate for Ages 3-8

You will need:
You Learn ItTM Foam Flower Garden Set (Set makes 10 Foam Projects including flowers, bugs and bird)

As a group project:
Give each child components from the kit to make one flower or bug. Have each child write their name on the back of their project, then put the bouquet together for a great birthday keepsake! You can use the coloring page as a message board for party guests to write a special message to the birthday boy/girl.

 As A Party Decoration:
Make the colorful foam bouquet prior to the party and use is as a fun table decoration!

 Project #3 - Lacing Cards

Appropriate for Ages 3-8

You will need:
You Learn ItTM Wings ‘n’ Things Lacing Cards- 1 per child (3 cards per set)
Masking or electrical tape
Markers or crayons

Or use them as place cards at the party table!

Project #4 - Mosaic Magnets

Appropriate for ages 5-12

You will need:
You Design ItTM Mosaic Magnets- 1 magnet per child (2 magnets per set)

Group Activity:
Give each child the components to make 1 mosaic magnet.

Use as a decoration:
Make the magnets prior to the party and place them around the table for sparkling decorations!

Hollywood Party

Project #1 - Walk Of Fame Stepping Stone

Appropriate for ages 5-12

You will need:
1 You Design ItTM Stepping Stone Kit
Bucket
Water
Tiles, gems or trinkets to embed in stone
Rags/Paper Towel
Pam cooking spray
A lot of Adult Supervision

An Adult will need to help mix the Cement following the instructions that come in the kit. Pour the cement into the mold and let it set up enough so the birthday child can make their handprints in the stone. Then let the party guests etch their names on the stone for a great birthday memory keepsake! After the party, when the stone is dry, the birthday boy/girl can paint the stone!

Project #2 - Autograph/Scrap Book

Appropriate for Ages 6-12

You will need:
1 You Design ItTM Mini Scrapbook or Memory Mini
Colored Markers
Polaroid or Digital Camera (with printer)

Take some fun pictures at the party. Have kids pose as if they were on the ‘Red Carpet’. Have them put their pictures in the Scrapbook and sign their autograph.

Girl Friends Party

Project #1 - Cellphone Key chains

You will need:
You Design ItTM Cellphone Keychain kits- one set per child

Use kits as hand-outs to take home or as a party activity.

Project #2  Party Friends Keepsake Collage Frame

You will need:
You Design ItTM Collage Frame and Treasure Box
Each child to bring a photo of themselves to fit frame.
Small pieces of paper (about 3x3)

Have each party guests bring a picture to fit the spaces in the frame. If there are more guests than there are photo frames, cut the additional photos to glue onto the front of the frame. Have each child sign their name on their photo with puff paint. Then have each child write a message to the birthday girl on a small piece of paper. Put the messages inside the treasure box, so the birthday girl can read them later. The birthday girl can decorate the frame and box after the party with the embellishments included in the kit.

Project #3 – Cards

You will need:
You Design ItTM 3D Cards Kit- 1 card per child (6 cards per kit)
Additional glue/hot glue
Markers

Each party guest can decorate a card to take home and give to family, to trade with each other at the party or to give to the birthday girl.

Project #4 - Pin on buttons

You will need:
You Design ItTM Pin-On Buttons -1 button per child (6 buttons per kit)
Additional glue/hot glue

Each party guest can decorate a button to wear and take home!

Project #5 - Memory Mobile

You will need:
You Design ItTM Memory Mobile
Each child needs to bring a photo of themselves to fit frame.

Have each party guests bring a picture to fit the spaces in the frame. If there are more guests than there are photo frames, cut the additional photos to glue onto the front of the frame. Have each party guest decorate one of the frames and sign their name on their photo with puff paint. The birthday girl can put the frame together after the party.

Enchantment Party
